In the heady days of the gold rush, it was this very room that safely held the town’s most valuable commodity. Precious gold was secured here in the late 1800s for the neighbouring bank, while a prosperous town buzzed below. Today, what was once a safe and solid vault room has become a luxurious spa, yet the feeling of stepping into a hideaway and a place of sanctuary remains.

The Vault Spa is located deep in the heart of the hotel, in the heritage wing and offers treatments to pamper the body, mind, and soul.     Unforgettable
    We arrived at Eichardt’s Private Hotel after a long flight from San Francisco. The pictures on the web site do not do it justice. Stunning suite with large balcony, bathroom with heated floors and towel rack. Gas fireplace and lots of sitting options. The service is impeccable without being cold and detached. Fantastic breakfasts and a lively and cozy bar overlooking the water. Minutes away on foot from a magnificent flower garden. Hope to have the pleasure of returning one day.
